Berry Meadow Bulky Yarn

One of the many great aspects of owning a herd of alpacas is deciding what to do with their fleece every year. Each May we shear our entire herd. They don't like the shearing process, but are much happier without all that fleece for the summer. Think of it as finally being able to take off a very warm heavy coat that you had on all winter and instantly losing over ten pounds as Thaddeus did this year (see photo below). Knitters love the feel of Berry Meadow Yarn. Our fleeces are hand skirted by Carole (a very time consuming process by which most hay, dust, etc is removed.) and sent to a mill in the USA for spinning following Carole's strict instructions.
